Our Lady Lourdes Hospital Provides Back Support for Scoliosis

Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital conducted a lay forum entitled "We Got Your Back: Everything You Need to Know About Scoliosis" at the Basilio Valdes Hall on February 17, 2024. The forum was an initiative by the Orthopedic and Rehab Medicine Department to raise awareness about the early signs of scoliosis among children.

Drs. Wilfredo Pacheco, Florentino Ylescupidez, Cristine Ogerio, Ameena Santos, and started the forum with a free scoliosis screening among the Grade 8 and 10 students from Jose Rizal University (JRU) who were invited into the forum along with their parents. This was then followed by a lecture about scoliosis, treatment options, and some helpful exercises.

Scoliosis detected at a young age can significantly impact a child's quality of life and self-confidence. We thank the Orthopedic and Rehab Medicine Department for hosting this initiative that would help children and their parents be aware of this condition. You deserve a pat on the back.
